Overview
Simpplr Classic uses Salesforce as its underlying platform infrastructure. Because of this, Salesforce may send emails directly to your organization's Salesforce administrators regarding platform updates, infrastructure changes, security events, and account activity.
Most of these notifications are standard Salesforce communications and do not affect your Simpplr environment. However, some require action from your Salesforce administrator to maintain functionality or prevent user confusion.
This article explains:
- What each Salesforce email means
- What Salesforce is communicating
- What action Simpplr takes (if any)
- What action your administrators must take

Emails requiring customer action
Hyperforce Migration
What it means
Your Salesforce instance is being migrated to Hyperforce, Salesforce's next-generation cloud infrastructure platform.
What Salesforce says
Salesforce requires certain integrations and configurations to be updated after migration to ensure continued connectivity.
Action from Simpplr
No action required from Simpplr.
Action from customer/admin
Update the Salesforce instance number in your Remote Site Settings.
Salesforce provides step-by-step instructions in the migration notification email.
Legacy visualforce domain / enhanced domains
What it means
Salesforce is retiring the legacy visual.force.com domain and replacing it with vf.force.com.
What Salesforce says
Organizations must update any hardcoded references to the legacy domain.
Action from Simpplr
No automatic updates are performed to customer-created content containing embedded URLs.
Action from customer/admin
Review and update any embedded URLs within:
- Simpplr pages
- HTML widgets
- Custom tiles
- Embedded content
Replace:
visual.force.com
with:
vf.force.com
Chatter notification Emails
What it means
Users may continue receiving Chatter email notifications even when Chatter notifications appear disabled within Simpplr.
What Salesforce says
Chatter email notifications are generated by Salesforce platform functionality and cannot be fully suppressed through standard Simpplr settings.
Action from Simpplr
Simpplr Support can provide guidance and the required workaround procedure.
Action from customer/admin
- Contact Simpplr support.
- Follow the Chatter email disablement procedure.
- Reapply the configuration whenever a new Site Manager or Content Manager is added.
Important: The Chatter email suppression setting must be re-applied each time a new Site Manager or Content Manager is added to the organization.
Salesforce marketing Emails appearing as internal communications
What it means
Users may receive Salesforce marketing or promotional emails that appear to originate from trusted internal sources.
What Salesforce says
This commonly occurs when organizations broadly allowlist all salesforce.com domains.
Action from Simpplr
No action required.
Action from customer/admin
Update email allowlisting rules:
Instead of allowlisting:
salesforce.com
Allowlist only your organization's Salesforce domain:
yourcompanyname.salesforce.com
This helps prevent unrelated Salesforce marketing emails from appearing as trusted internal communications while maintaining delivery of Simpplr-related messages.
Login or device verification Emails (after SimpplrOne migration)
What it means
Users receive Salesforce login verification or device verification emails referencing old Simpplr Classic accounts.
What Salesforce says
Salesforce generates these emails whenever a login attempt is made against the legacy Salesforce environment.
Common cause
The legacy Simpplr Classic environment remains configured within your organization's SSO provider, allowing users to select an outdated login option.
Action from Simpplr
Simpplr can assist in validating whether the Classic environment has been fully decommissioned.
Action from customer/admin
Remove references to the legacy Simpplr Classic environment from your SSO configuration.
This prevents users from accidentally triggering Salesforce Classic authentication flows.
Security alert: suspicious activity or frozen user
What it means
Salesforce detected activity that it considers high risk and automatically protected the account.
Typical triggers include:
- Login attempts from anonymizing VPN services
- High-risk proxy networks
- TOR exit nodes
- Suspicious authentication activity
When triggered, Salesforce may:
- Freeze the user account
- Revoke active access tokens
- Generate a security alert email
What Salesforce says
Salesforce continuously evaluates source IP addresses using threat intelligence feeds and may automatically block or freeze accounts associated with anonymizing VPN providers.
Action from Simpplr
- Help identify whether the account belongs to a real user or service account.
- Assist in validating whether activity originated from a legacy Simpplr Classic environment.
- Help determine whether decommissioned environments remain active.
Action from customer/admin
If the account belongs to a real user:
- Unfreeze the Salesforce user account.
- Require the user to reset their password.
- Have the user attempt login again.
If you are unsure who owns the account:
Contact Simpplr Support for assistance.
If you have migrated to SimpplrOne:
Verify that the legacy Classic environment:
- Has been decommissioned
- Is no longer accessible
- Has been removed from SSO configurations
Salesforce guidance on VPN usage
Allowed
Enterprise VPN solutions that provide secure remote access without anonymizing user traffic, such as:
- ZScaler
- Cisco AnyConnect
High-risk / Potentially blocked
Consumer anonymizing VPN services, such as:
- NordVPN
- TunnelBear
- TOR-based services
Salesforce evaluates IP reputation dynamically and may classify anonymizing VPN traffic as high risk.
Note: Organizations that have migrated to SimpplrOne may still receive login and security-related Salesforce notifications if the legacy Classic environment remains referenced within SSO or has not been fully decommissioned.
