Overview
As a paid add-on and part of the Employee Listening suite, you can use sentiment checks to see how users feel about important announcements.
Note:
Prior to sending surveys or adding sentiment checks to content, ensure you've whitelisted the URL https://cdn.listenersuite-production.simpplr.xyz/ in your browser. Otherwise you may not see the option to add surveys or sentiment checks.Users will get an array of options to rate how they feel about any piece of content based on various scales:
-
-
- Sentiment: Very negative to very positive
- Agreement: Strongly disagree to strongly agree
- Quality: Very poor to excellent
- Frequency: Never to always
- Emoji: Sad face to happy face
- Custom: Create your own 1 to 5 scale
-
This feature is part of the paid add-on, Employee Listening. Contact your CSM for more information.
Enable sentiment check
If Employee Listening is enabled for your org, app managers can enable sentiment checks by going to Manage > Application > Setup > Employee Listening. They can then choose which people have sentiment check permissions.
Add a sentiment check to content
With sentiment check enabled, Site owners/managers, and those with requisite permissions have the option to Add sentiment check to pieces of content in their site(s).
Doing so will open the Add sentiment check modal, where you choose from a range of default questions for users respond to.
To enter a custom question, click Custom. You can word the question however you like, but we recommend making it in line with the scale you use. You'll have the option to choose the best scale for your question, or create your own.
Finally, choose whether or not to hide survey results from End users. By default, once a user has voted, they'll be shown the overall percentage of sentiment score (see video below). As the Sentiment check manager, you can choose to hide these results.
Participating in a sentiment check
When a sentiment check is enabled on a piece of content, users will be prompted to give their feedback when they've finished reading it.
Participation in sentiment checks is optional, and all responses are anonymous. We can't track answers back to an individual user.
After giving their feedback, users will see how their response fits in with the sentiment of other users on that piece of content (if enabled by the Sentiment check manager).
Reporting
To see a report on a piece of content's sentiment check, from the content, go to Sentiment check report.
You can filter responses by department and location, and can view individual responses in the Open feedback section. As of the 23.12 release, you can also export the report as a CSV file.
To protect user anonymity, if there are five or fewer pieces of feedback in a report, you won't be able to see individual responses.
Comments
Hi. Is the sentiment question embedded at the bottom of the content? Or, is there a prompt as they try to leave the page?
Also, when it is states you can view "individual" responses, what kind of info do you get about the individual if it is anonymous?
Thank you in advance.
Hi Angela. Yes, the Sentiment Check will appear at the bottom of the content.
And if the results are anonymous, you won't see any information about a specific individual.
