NEWSLETTER ANALYTICS | Transferring/Including Analytics Through Forwards

If we send a newsletter to someone in the Insider directly using the newsletter feature—the person is a Simpplr user and is part of the initial audience. And then if that person were to forward the newsletter sent to them directly from the newsletter feature within Simpplr to other Simpplr users, would the system still see/add analytics if the person who received the newsletter (a Simpplr user who was not part of the initial audience) that was forwarded to them clicked on different links in the newsletter or opened the newsletter?

The persons who would receive the forwarded newsletter would also be Simpplr users.

Wanted to see if you knew how or whether that worked Matthew Rawls and Mike Messinger

Appreciate your help.

Hi Brian. In short, If user A (the intended user) forwards a newsletter email from their email inbox to another Simpplr user (user B), in that case, the clicks performed by user B on the forwarded email, will still be recorded under user A, as the user id for tracking the clicks is embedded in the newsletter email HTML. This can skew data to show more element/link clicks than there "should" be among intended recipients. We don't recommend forwarding newsletters.
